Our commitment starts with the choice of wood, because only with a careful selection and the following rigorous natural maturation, it is possible to cooper a product with a high standard.
The most commonly used wood is the oak from the best countries of origin as Slavonia (Croatia, Bosnia), Hungary, Austria and France. For our barrels we predominantly choose Quercus sessilis whose characteristics is defined by compactness, fine graininess and wealth in aromatic components.
On request we also can process other woods such as acacia, cherry, chestnut, ash and mulberry tree.
The staves get mature in the open-air for a period from 2 to 4 years, at our locations in Italy and Austria. The time of maturation, is related to the seasonal conditions and the strength of the wood. Air, sun and rain enable a smooth and gradual transformation of the ingredients of the wood.
